A meeting was organized by the initiative of Wagholi Welfare Foundation on 28 July to discuss the traffic problems in Wagholi. Large numbers of Wagholi residents actively participate in discussing traffic problems and giving views and suggestions. Assistant Police Inspector Mr. Gajanan Jadhav informed the present citizens about the causes and solutions of traffic problems . It was unanimously decided to work together in collaboration amongst traffic police team and Wagholi residents to help with all traffic issues in Wagholi

Meeting Objective: To review the growing traffic issues in Wagholi and present effective solutions.
Key Points:
1. Main Causes of Traffic Congestion:
Vehicles Driving in the Wrong Direction: Many drivers travel in the wrong direction to reach their destination, causing traffic congestion. This obstructs other
vehicles on the road, leading to traffic jams.
Illegal Parking: Parking on public roads and unauthorized places narrows the road, causing traffic congestion and increasing traffic.
Ignoring Traffic Signals: Ignoring traffic signals and crossing intersections disrupts the smooth flow of traffic and increases the likelihood of accidents.
2. Measures to Reduce Traffic:
Parking Markings: P1 and P2 parking markings should be managed by PMC.
Violation Fines and Towing: A separate team is required to manage fines for violations and towing vehicles.
Pothole Repairs: - PWD, PMRDA, and PMC should repair potholes within their respective road scopes.
- Engineers from PMC, PMRDA, and PWD should coordinate for road repairs.
Traffic Signals: Install signals at critical locations.
Vehicle Placement: Designate separate locations for traffic department vehicle placement.
Road Handover: All roads within PMC limits should be handed over to PMC.
Property Reimbursement: Ensure proper reimbursement to property owners affected by road widening.
Department Coordination: Improve coordination among departments for removing road obstacles like signboards, electricity poles, and potholes.
Unauthorized Vehicles: Remove unauthorized autorickshaws and tempos from Wagheshwar Mandir, Awalwadi, and Kesnand Chowk.
Traffic Management: - Form WhatsApp groups of WWF volunteers with API and team to report live traffic jams for quick action by the traffic police.
- Install signboards to raise awareness and avoid traffic jams from Wagheshwar Mandir Chowk to Bakori Fata.
Conclusion: n this meeting, traffic issues in Wagholi were analysed, and clear measures were suggested. The members discussed various perspectives on the
issues and proposed effective solutions. This is expected to improve traffic management in Wagholi.
